[tweetmeme]I opened my Facebook account this morning to find out that Aileen Siroy, a young photographer from the Philippines that I featured on WomenHomeBusiness.com, tagged me. In her status, she wrote:
I interviewed her when she was still making the transition as a full-time employee to a part-time photographer. She has since left her job, and now focuses full-time on her photography business where she specializes in portraitures and weddings. The risk she took paid off: she is now booked solid for more than a year for her photography services.
It warms my heart to see entrepreneurs I’ve previously featured inspire other people, and see the effect they have on others. Aileen told me that she has received several similar emails thanking her for inspiring them after reading her story in WomenHomeBusiness.com.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day, and a time to reflect on everything that we’re thankful for.
I am most definitely thankful for meeting a lot of wonderful entrepreneurs and business owners, particularly those who have shared their stories with our online publications. Their selflessness and willingness to share their experiences in starting and running a business, and lessons they’ve learned along the way, gave us all the inspiration and motivation we need.
I am also thankful for having the platform for presenting the skills, talents and endeavors of the entrepreneurs we’ve interviewed and featured. I’d like to believe that our websites — even for some teensy, weensy bit — have helped these entrepreneurs gain a little more exposure. One of the high points of my work here at PowerHomeBiz.com is when a producer of the morning show Good Morning America asked for the contact information of an entrepreneur we previously featured before.
What are you thankful for?
