		<description>Hi Isabel,

Lots of good ideas there. One I&#039;d like to add is being an Independent Computer Consultant.

Of course, you&#039;d first need the skill-set to maintain a small business computer network, but assuming you have the pre-requisite skills, being an outsourced consultant is an excellent career choice in a down economy.

ALL small businesses that rely on computer technology need to support and maintain the systems in one way or another. Outsourcing this task is a lot less expensive than hiring a full-time IT person to do it.

Plus, with the inexpensive remote support technologies and monitoring utilities available, an outsourced tech can be just as fast and effective in supporting the network as an in-house tech could.

I&#039;ve been providing computer support to small businesses for almost 15 years, and in the past 18 months, I&#039;ve seen a dramatic increase in a request for my services.

I recommend to anyone with network admin skills to consider the career path of Independent Computer Consultant.
