Johns Creek, GA --
After building an initial selection of articles, Self Defense ATL
http://www.selfdefenseatl.com
today announced the official opening of its blog, Self Defense for Everyone
at
http://selfdefenseforeveryone.blogspot.com . The blog is a guide for
ordinary Americans who are interested in self defense products and topics.
(news continued below)
Self defense ATL president David Brackman became interested in
self-defense equipment as an outgrowth of his favorite hobbies: hiking and
camping. He realized that he was frequently by himself or in small groups
far away from local law enforcement, but that there were few guides to
intelligently buying pepper spray or other self defense products written
with his perspective in mind: that of an ordinary person, not a martial arts
expert, security professional or military enthusiast.
"I'm not the kind of guy who runs around in camouflage all day," said Mr.
Brackman. "I leave that to hunters and people defending the country, God
bless them. When regular consumers want to buy stun guns and other products
they're interested in knowing how to get away from danger and how to use
them within a strategy where they try to stay out of trouble in the first
place."
The blog is the result of Mr. Brackman's research and experience in the
business of personal protection gear. Every month, the blog will profile
issues in self defense that matter to the average person, with a twin focus
on avoiding conflict and getting the most out of self defense equipment.
"For example, lots of people are interested in self defense courses, but
the hardcore language attached to some DVDs doesn't appeal to them," said
Mr. Brackman. "That's why we have an article in our archives (at
http://selfdefenseforeveryone.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
that talks about building a fitness base and working your way through the
DVD methodically."
Visitors to the blog can already peruse an archive of 15 articles
covering everything from hiking safety to the pros and cons of knives for
persona protection. Updates will be available once or twice a month.
