Schoolsgalore.com has recently made public the turning trends for online and
distance education as witnessed on their portal and how these have effected
the decisions of many prospective learners looking for an online education.
(news continued below)
With over 1000 campus based schools and online certificate and degree
programs, CEO Michael O. Brickell of schoolsgalore.com says the site is
“targeted to generate its one millionth organic visitor by March of 2009”.
“These are exciting days” says Brickell, “SchoolsGalore.com has reached a
pinnacle of magical success in becoming one of the most popular mainstream
websites among it niche market, with its tens of thousands of monthly
visitors finding what they want amongst all of its online and campus based
educational choices”.
“Look back over the last five years, the state of education as we all
knew it has changed for good and definitely for the better” stated the chief
executive. Online distance learning has opened wide the doors to a
professional education for millions who could not have been able to afford
the opportunity cost of education only a few years ago, with more and more
students demanding flexibility in the structure of online programs so as to
fit learning into widely varied and often cramped schedules, portals like
SchoolsGalore.com have taken on the awesome responsibility of helping some
of these millions of new learners find the right education for themselves
online every year”.
Today, far more people than could ever be accommodated in campus based
courses are enrolled in a variety of online programs, earning accreditation
through everything from completely online collage degrees to accredited
online high school diplomas or various online training certificates.
According to the Sloan survey, ‘Over 3.9 million students were taking at
least one online course during the fall 2007 term (1), which means that
‘Over twenty percent of all U.S. higher education students were taking at
least one online course by the fall of 2007’ (1).
With this exponential rise in the popularity of online schools and
universities, and the influence and effectiveness of technology and web
based learning on modern education, it will not be long before remote and
web learning becomes an integral part of the education in any field of
interest.
