What is this critical element? Is it the new "plan" you just bought or are
thinking of buying? Is it your ability to write great capture pages and ads?
How about your knowledge of Adwords? And don't forget social networking,
after all this is network marketing. Then there are the forums, the Ezines,
programming skills and, well, just fill in the blank.
(news continued below)
These and many more, no question about it, they are indeed important, no,
critical. Without them, well, you probably won't make it. But one thing tops
them all in importance.
But first, the thing about it is this: the nature of the way we do
business generally eliminates this contribution entirely. You see we are
individualist. Not only that, we work out of our homes in tandem with-no
one. And that identifies the most significant of all our problems. We are
loaners; and the great majority of loaners fail.
So, what is that "one thing" that "missing ingredient?" The single most
significant element in MLM success is a coach or mentor or partner or
whatever you want to call it. It is the power expressed in this formula:
1+1=3. And sometimes it equals far more than 3.
The Teacher
Do you "know it all"? No, of course you don't. Hence, we see the need of
a teacher. Successful people have a world of information to share. Why would
you want to reinvent the wheel when much of the hard work in this project
has already been done? Not only does civilization move ahead on the
shoulders of prior generations, we do the same. By tapping into the
experience of one who has marched down this path before, you save yourself
more time and money than you can believe. But more important than that, this
may be the difference between success and failure, not just simply time and
money.
The Encourager
But a coach does more than teach. A very important part of his role is to
motivate and encourage you when you grow tired, discouraged and begin to be
convinced that it's just not going to happen. Everyone needs someone to come
along side of them and encourage them to get up and get back on the bicycle.
On our own, we very often become defeatist, even morose and certain that we
have bitten off more than we can chew. "Someone else may be able to do this,
but not me." And then there comes that encouraging hand, and we are back in
the game.
The Accountability Partner
Encouragement is great but there is something else that is often more
important than that: accountability. This is where you agree to do certain
things every day and know that you must give an account of your work to
another. Others are depending on you too. Accountability is a driving force
empowering you to do things that on your on would never get done. You just
wouldn't have the energy, and that darn TV is all so inviting after a hard
day!
The Problem
All this is so true! But there is a problem. Ever notice how expensive
coaches are in this business? And another thing, ever notice how
inaccessible they are-even when you pay them?
So, what is the answer? Well in fact not all MLM builders charge for
their time. They are very much aware that if they can't get you into big
bucks, they aren't going to get there either. So, look not only for great
marketing plans, great pay plans and great products, but also look for the
willing coach. These four provide you with the solid foundation to make it
big in Network Marketing.
