The study further highlighted that videos prompt action. Proof? Almost a
third of respondents (64%) took action after seeing a video ad; almost half
(44%) visit the advertiser’s website; and exactly a third (33%) search for a
particular product or service.

Following are 6 tips for making them effective in your pay per click
campaigns.
1. Use Effective Images: If a picture is worth a thousand words,
then the right one can be worth a thousand dollars – or more (you get what
we’re trying to say).
2. SEO Your Video Ad: What do we mean by this? Optimize your video
the same way you would content for your website. Remember, search engines
are robots; this means they can’t read video content. But, they can read
meta tags for it, ie, your title tag, your video description tag, your
keyword tag.
3. Decide on a Purpose: Before you make your pay per click video
ad, decide what it’s purpose is. Is it to make an immediate sale, get more
subscribers, build brand awareness, etc.? By deciding beforehand exactly
what you want a video ad to do, you will exponentially increase your
conversion odds.
4. French for the French; English for the English: What we mean by
this is to speak your intended audience’s language. Just like web copy,
sales letters and any other marketing message, your pay per click video ad
should be relatable. Remember, you haven’t changed “how” to market, you’ve
only changed the medium.
5. KISS It! KISS is marketing speak for “Keep It Simple Sam.” Most
pay per click video ads are short, so you don’t have a lot of time to get
into a whole lot of detail. Your video ad should whet the appetite of the
viewer, making them want to . . .
6. Take Action: Don’t forget to put in a call-to-action statement.
This is true for any type of marketing that you do. At the risk of sounding
repetitive, you haven’t changed “how” to market, you’ve only changed the
medium.
