-- Indian Culinary Forum (ICF) and PHD Chamber, supported by Indian
Federation of Culinary Associations (IFCA) have joined hands to host Chef
Awards, 2008 on the occasion of International Chefs Day on 18th October,
2008 at Hotel Ashoka, New Delhi. This will be consequent 5th year where
Chefs will be honored and recognized for their outstanding contribution. The
event will be attended by top leaders of the hospitality industry.

International Chefs Day has been marked as a special occasion to
recognize a chef as an artist and also to create an awareness of the
profession of chefs who have set remarkable industry standards in the art of
cooking.
The exclusivity of International Chefs Day for this year will be a
Charity Dinner with a novel theme – ‘GREEN CUISINE’ offering Organic, Trendy
& Healthy Cuisine where Chefs from different hotels and restaurant will
present their culinary creations under one roof. Besides a week long
(Gourmet Specialty Week, which will be open to public) celebrations where
the chefs from various top hotels and restaurants in Delhi and NCR will hold
live cooking demonstrations at their properties to present their culinary
skills.
The proceedings from all events will go to charity organizations Plan
India and PHD Family Welfare Foundation. This is keeping in tune with PHD
Chamber’s motto “In Community Life & Part of it” and ICF’s long standing
commitment to the under privileged children through its programme on ‘Chef &
Child’
Said Mr. Anil Bhandari, Former CMD, ITDC & Chairman, Organizing
Committee, Chef Awards 2008, “We are celebrating International Chef’s Day
and Chef Awards since 2004 and this is the 5th year in the running. We
believe Chef’s are not only the ambassadors of our country, but they also
form an integral part of the hospitality industry. During these celebrations
chef presents their best of the skill in cooking garnished and served in the
platter.”
There would be over 14 categories of awards including Golden Hat Chef
Award, Silver Hat Chef Award, Best Food Critic Award, Chef of the Year, Lady
Chef of the year, Master Chef International Cuisine Award and many more…..
A high level jury specially formed comprising of known faces of
hospitality industry like Chef Arvind Saraswat from Taj Stats, Chef O.P.
Khantwal, Fortune Park Hotels, Chef Shaju Zacharia, Senior General Manager,
DLF Hotels Holdings Ltd, Chef Vivek Sagar, F&B Consultancy Services, Food
Art, Chef YB Mathur, Sr. Executive Chef, ITC Limited etc. to award the best
entries.
