LanyardStore.com Plans To Donate One Million Lanyards To Non- profit Organizations Within One Year
Over the coming one year, ministries, public schools, youth camps and other non-profit organizations that serve their communities will be the lucky beneficiaries of one million ID-holder neck lanyards through Lanyardstore.com’s generous lanyard donation program.

August 16, 2009 ( PowerHomeBiz.com )  - Over the coming one year, ministries, public schools, youth camps and other non-profit organizations that serve their communities will be the lucky beneficiaries of one million ID-holder neck lanyards through Lanyardstore.com’s generous lanyard donation program.

“One million lanyards aren’t a lot when you take into account that last year alone we sold over 8 million printed lanyards,” explains co-owner David Lee. However, up to 10% of each run gets wasted due to overruns and misprints, so we end up with a lot of excess lanyards”.

Lanyards are straps that hang from the neck, with attachments to hold a variety of things. “We also make other promotional products such as key holders, neck wallets as well as school supplies.” However, Lee feels that lanyards are one of the most practical donations for charities, due to their usefulness at events, fundraisers and other functions.

In 1994, Lee began importing and screen printing lanyards in his garage, just to help bring business to the Chinese factory his father-in-law had just bought. He soon began to get large orders from trade shows, school lanyards, and conventions, and had to open up a warehouse for lanyard printing. Lanyardstore now employs 25 people and in addition to lanyards, sells custom printed retractable badge reels, printed neck wallets, retractable reels, custom badge holders, ID holders and even custom shoelaces.

This program to donate one million excess lanyards over the next 18 months came about from Lee’s belief that companies must never throw away perfectly good supplies when they can benefit worthy causes.

“We are now giving away printed lanyards to schools, churches and all kinds of charities. We believe that bringing good rapport during these hard times is well worth the effort and will also eventually bring us more business,” Lee explains. “We also plan to give away 100,000 custom dog collars and pet collars to animal shelters next winter.”
