Canvas On Demand Donates Boxing Canvas for Community Non-Profit
Reaching out to their community, Canvas On Demand deals in a different kind of canvas by donating a boxing canvas to the non-profit organization LAMiTCA that provides mentoring outreach and education to underprivileged children in Selma, North Carolina.

August 30, 2009 ( PowerHomeBiz.com )  - Canvas on Demand recently donated a 18'x18' boxing canvas to the non-profit organization "LAMiTCA" that provides mentoring outreach, education and after-school programs to the underprivileged and at-risk children and teens of the Selma, North Carlina area. Darryl and Deatha Kirkland, founders and leaders of LAMiTCA, reached out to Canvas On Demand and found a willing community-building partner.

Explaining LAMiTCA further, Death says "Our resource center includes information ranging from job search to environmental awareness, and our classes include English as a second language, boxing, ballet and modern dance, tutoring, and GED instruction."

Upon learning of the initiative taken by the Kirklands, and their need, Joe Schmidt and Tom Lotrecchiano were excited to be a part of their efforts. Says Tom, "Once we learned how this couple is empowering kids in their local community, we wanted to support them. Since our <a http://www.canvasondemand.com canvas printsare not meant for this sort of application, Joe and I decided to order what they needed from Everlast. We are delighted to partner with LAMiTCA by making this donation. We want others to know about the fine work that Darryl and Deatha are doing in Selma. Their efforts are aimed at bringing about positive change in our world and sets a terrific example for others."

Construction of the new LAMiTCA boxing ring and more information about the two organizations involved is available in a http://cool.canvasondemand.com/2009/donation/helping-kids-fight-the-odds-in-and-out-of-the-boxing-ring/ video chronicling the joint effort.
