-- While economics issues are playing a part, a growing number of
holidaymakers are rediscovering the joys of a UK break.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown's decision to holiday in Southwold this
summer has put the focus firmly on the relaxed and beautiful county of
Suffolk. Tourism bosses said more people were choosing the county for
holidays with bookings up on last year.
Everyone in the industry is working hard to attract business as the
market is obviously tough but where there are good offers and good areas to
visit with quality accommodation, then those areas will benefit.
Just along the coast from Southwold is the stylish and very fashionable
small resort of Aldeburgh, set on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Tim
Rowan-Robinson, Managing Director of Thorpeness and Aldeburgh Hotels said
"business is strong at the moment and we have every hope of a good year but
there is still plenty of accommodation for late bookers to snap up".
Thorpeness and Aldeburgh Hotels, and independent hotel group, have three
hotels in the area. The White Lion Hotel
