-- Talario™, a recognized leader in the emerging digital writing market, today announced the availability of the Xpaper PDF Digital Writing Kit, an innovative personal productivity tool for business professionals. The kit is a business process enhancement system for small and medium-sized organizations, utilizing proven digital writing technology that enables ambulatory care facilities, small physician practices, insurance agents, financial planners, loan officers and others to create and capture written materials electronically.
(news continued below))
The system, priced at $399.00, naturally records handwriting on any
document or form, instantly creates searchable PDFs upon docking and
automatically controls where the information will be sent, stored, managed
or processed. It works with documents printed from any Windows application
including desktop PC software as well as Internet-enabled applications.
Digital copies are created in the common PDF format, so they are easily used
with almost any information system.
The Xpaper PDF Digital Writing Kit includes a digital pen based on Anoto
digital pen and paper technology, the Xpaper PDF Print Driver, Xpaper
Manager and the PaperView Assistant.
- Xpaper PDF printer driver – the printer driver is installed just like any
other printer device. It adds a unique pattern of Anoto microdots to
documents as they are printed, and an image of the document is automatically
stored on the computer for later reference.
- Digital Pen - containing an
integrated miniature camera and image microprocessor with onboard memory,
this pen utilizes Anoto technology to record handwriting, while writing in
real ink on documents.
- Xpaper Manager - this software automatically displays PDF copies of documents once the digital pen is docked in its USB cradle.
Users can send or manage the documents in a variety of ways, or choose to
have them automatically processed silently in the background.
- PaperView –
enables users to easily enter handwritten data or attach digital copies of
paper forms into any Windows application or browser-based system.
“We created this kit in order to help people more easily use paper in
their digital world,” said Tim Aughenbaugh, president of Talario. “It
enables business users to continue to have the advantage of paper’s utility
and flexibility, while automating and streamlining the use of documents and
paper-generated information in their existing digital systems. Our goal is
simple - make paper play nice in a digital world. With Xpaper PDF, we can
finally make that happen.”
Xpaper PDF is easily configured for networked environments. Documents can
be printed on any computer, written upon with multiple pens and then docked
at any other computer. Handwriting is automatically updated on the digital
copies so it always matches the physical paper. Additionally, documents can
be configured at print time to automatically route to certain locations via
email or file storage. Upon docking of the pen, users can automatically
trigger applications to manage the information.
“We are pleased to be working with Talario to offer such an efficient,
commercially viable option for data capture needs. The presence of boxed
products like Xpaper PDF increases the ease with which new users can adopt
the Anoto digital pen and paper technology. This is a growing market for
ready-to-use solutions, catering to the mid-sized and small business
customers,” said Ebba Åsly Fåhraeus, VP Sales & Marketing, Forms, Anoto.
