“It’s like online dating in a way,” says Shebna Olsen, vice president/financial advisor at HSBC in New York City. Ms. Olsen joined WBC a few months ago upon the advice of Joe Corbalis of KMRC Flooring in Yonkers, who along with Grace Borrani of Borrani Realty, (also in Yonkers), and Jaime Garry of Cybermania, (a Bronx-based graphic design company), helped establish this innovative group, which has grown by more than 100 associates since June 1.

Visibility is created on LinkedIn as participants post comments and start up discussions of interest to the group. But promotion doesn’t stop there. The group encourages associates to meet in person, too, by attending a variety of regularly scheduled events throughout the year.

This month, WBC will host two events: one at the Pour Café and Wine Bar in Mount Kisco July 21, and another networking event at Blu Riverfront Bar and Bistro in Hastings-on-Hudson July 30.
