The website which launched in July 2006 has seen traffic grow by 150% in
the last year. Today it is generating more than 60,000 vehicle led internet
leads for its roster of advertisers ranging from manufacturers such as
Peugeot Vans, sign writers like Signs Express and van centres like Wilsons
Vans and Van Monster.
The website, which is aimed at van drivers, traders and small businesses,
offers an attractive menu of news and editorial content, including road
tests and survey reports. Innovative driver and dealer platforms include Van
Matters which offers add-ons and accessories.
Vansunited.co.uk Product Manager Duncan Colman said: “In the two years
since we launched, we’ve had over 1.3m visitors which is remarkable! We’ve
always been at the forefront of the industry due to our comprehensive
content on all things vans as well as supporting on the issues that really
affect the small business community.”
Colman added: “The site’s rising popularity is a huge endorsement of our
mission is to bring van users the best van deals, whilst offering the
information needed to make informed choices.”
Vansunited.co.uk has also received widespread support for being so vocal
and standing up for the rights of the van driving small business community.
Activity has included joining forces with other road user groups to press
for a delay in the introduction of a 2p rise diesel fuel tax and producing
research into the changing perceptions of van drivers, to working with the
Prostate Cancer Research Foundation to raise awareness of the disease to the
male van driving community.
Vansunited.co.uk’s search engine rankings have also been climbing
steadily, with an increasing number of page one positions achieved in Google,
MSN and Yahoo search results. Vansunited.co.uk is now highly ranked for
‘used vans’, ‘new vans’ and ‘ford transit’ on Google.
On the back of the growth, in March Vansunited.co.uk launched
www.contracthireweb.co.uk, a unique leasing and contract hire site which
automatically diverts van drivers to dealers in their area.
Contracthireweb.co.uk offers comprehensive, easily-understood, information
and advice to help navigate the often daunting array of options available.
