At the same time, “traditional” businesses are usually informed just not
well enough to understand the new advantages or possibilities that never
existed before. One of the most illustrative examples in this regards is the
interactive 3D systems. This type of software could be considered as the
emerging mass-market on the edge between the IT service providers and
industrial customers.
“3D applications were always in demand for powerful hardware. Yet the
evolution of platforms during several last years is gradually enabling even
the mainstream PCs to smoothly handle modern virtual worlds. What is likely
to be the next stage therefore? A breakthrough in interactive 3D software
for non-entertainment use!” - says Dimitry Sverdlik, CTO of Ukrainian
software house Program-Ace (www.program-ace.com).
The team of Program-Ace, having more than 5 years of experience in
large-scale 3D projects, with the beginning of Q1 2009 has started a new
long-term initiative.
“Being a developer of proprietary 3D technologies, we have decided to
make a next step – and to produce a series of industry-oriented products
based on Ace3D Engine and our framework solutions. We consider
computer-based labor trainings and professional education to be one of the
key application areas,” - comments Oleg Fonarov, company's CEO. “Such
systems can bring greatest advantages out of combination of high-end 3D
technologies with the tasks which always require significant level of
interactivity and lifelike experience”.
The core of company's strategic investments includes gradual development
of the software platform and specific tools tuned for certain markets or
groups of customers. From the other hand, the planned leap ahead also
foresees the whole set of corresponding services, such as: modeling,
visualization and animation; merging of interactive models with advanced
software applications (e.g. in professional simulators) or even outsourced
product development (OPD).
Final products may include: 3D catalogs and presentations, interactive
tours and walkthroughs in cyber-space, 3D cities and full-scale virtual
worlds, advanced 3D manuals and interactive trainings, Web3D applications
and portals, etc.
Aiming to bring the new generation of high-end 3D applications for
industrial use to the market, Program-Ace also looks for strategic alliances
for the future. For instance, since 2006 the company is involved into
Intel(R) Software Partner Program and in 2008 joined Sun Partner Advantage
initiative. The other type of possible allies includes large enterprises
interested in transforming their standard business processes (or
promo-activities) with the power of latest IT-technologies.
