Customers Amazed at Personal Service and Contact from Family Owned Company

An Illinois man is surprised that an owner of a company would take time to make a phone call to follow up on a small purchase.

April 11, 2009 ( PowerHomeBiz ) - Bedfords Heights, OH  - When was the last time you shopped for something on the internet? Did you question the validity of the company, did you wonder if someone was actually there and would help you in your purchase? Maybe you called and got an answering service, maybe you clicked a very impersonal Chat button. Did someone get back to you quickly if you had a question? Did the store offer advice and insight on the product you were shopping for? Did you take the leap only to find out days or weeks later that the item was actually not coming?

These are common experiences for many who are experienced or new to internet shopping. The web has become a great tool for many to use to shop for items, look for the best price, read reviews and make purchases without ever leaving the comfort of there home. In the last year, internet sales were the one strong performing area of the economy.

With that said, there are many companies on the internet that seem very impersonal and inflexible. So it was a great surprise for Michael from Illinois to not only find a company with all the security and selection he wanted, but he also found an owner in Jacqueline Johnson that was willing to go the extra mile to make sure his experience was positive. Michael could have easily become a casualty of internet shopping and been turned off by his experience to Toysandhome.com as well as web shopping in general, but do to the dedication of Toysandhome.com owner Jacqueline Johnson, Michaels story is one that many folks have been experiencing with this family owned company.

Michael Kunz - Fox River Grove, IL

This is a very popular item (Orange colored) from Step2. I ordered it through Toys & Home because they showed that they had the product and they had a good price. Unfortunately it took a lot longer than I had anticipated due to unforeseen circumstances and when I did receive it, the handle to it was missing. All along I had been in contact with Toys & Home via e-mail and they responded almost within minutes to my inquiries. It turned out that Step2 may have inadvertently left the handle out by error. I was told to contact Step2 direct and Jeri over there was very apologetic and shipped the handle out immediately. Jacquie (the owner) from Toys & Home actually called my house to see if they could do anything else. When was the last time the owner of a company followed up with the customer? I was very pleased with their personal touch and would definitely use them again.

Toys and Home has been doing business for 8 years and has been owned by the Johnson family since last fall. They have increased selection by bringing in many new brands while focusing on their core business with Little Tikes and Step2 products. Located in NE Ohio, they have a store in Cleveland and one soon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with plans to expand to Chicago, California and Kansas. They continue to look for ways to stay competitive with their pricing and still offer personal service to every customer they meet. With sales up over 40% this year, the Johnson's will be focusing on streamlining logistics so they can continue to offer the personal touch so many customers want in today's environment.
