The Summit is being organized in association with Industry's leading
associations like OPPI, IDMA, PHARMEXCIL and IPA. The summit also saw the
felicitation of some of the stalwarts and achievers who have made much
difference to the Industry and have contributed tremendously to its growth.
Mr D B Gupta CMD Lupin Labs Ltd, Mr Samprada Singh CMD Alkem Labs Ltd and Mr
Jagdish Saxena CMD Elder Pharmaceuticals Ltd were also felicitated for their
outstanding contribution to the pharma industry.
Shri Ramesh C. Bhagat Born in 1936, in a small town of Surat in
Gujarat, Shri Rameshchandra Bhagat, a deep lover of human race, made his
entry into the pharmaceutical industry in the early days of post
independence era, when the industry in India itself was in its infancy.
Seeing tyhe non-availability of essential life saving medicines in India, he
started importing into india, many first time in India life saving
anticancer molecules, neuro molecules and thrombolytes and cardiac molecules
that were not available in India, at affordable prices to the common man.
Besides these he aggresively introduced for the first time in India, by
importing the oral polio vaccine and many more vaccines in India. As a great
lover of humanity, Shri R.C.Bhagat cherished the ideal that Medicines were
for the people and not for profits. In times of calamities and catastrophies,
this champion of poor, contributed lavishly for the needy, During Tsunami,
plague epidemic and the earthquate tragedy in Gujarat, he was always leading
from the front, helping as much he can. Today as the 2nd generation takes
over to continue his legacy and his mission through VHB group, we take great
pleasure in honouring this great doyen with a life time achinevement award.

MS ANJU GUPTA KAUDANYA Born in 1973, this dynamic young CEO and MD
of VHB Medisciences Limited, started her career with VHB group as a trainee
in 1992 at her age of 18, and through her hardwork and dedication earned the
highest position in the organisation. Her leadership witnessed dramatic
growth and through her aggressive positioning and strategy the organisation
won many laurels and awards. Under her dynamic leadership VHB bagged
prestigious ASSOCHAM AWARDS in the category of India’s Fastest Growing
Pharmaceutical Company in the year 2007.
