During the meeting, Dr. Abu-Libdeh, informed the four parties that almost
800 participants have been invited with 150 regional and international
confirmations.
“This reflects strong international interest in this important initiative
and indicates that our aim of profiling Palestinian success stories and
promoting Palestinian potential has international resonance,” Dr Abu-Libdeh
said.
The discussion included an overview of the Conference agenda, which will
include several themed sectoral investment sessions and a full-scale
exhibition of Palestinian products and projects.
“Palestine is open and ready for business, and we look forward to
welcoming the international investment community to Bethlehem in May. We
don’t want to underplay the serious challenges Palestine faces in doing
business, but we are confident that these can be overcome. Identifying
worthwhile private and public sector business opportunities for economic
development is one way we can achieve this,” added Dr Abu-Libdeh.
At the end of the meeting the four entities offered their full support
for the conference, and discussed ways in which their business communities
could be involved in PIC- Palestine, for further economic and trade
cooperation.
