If we have a glance of manufacturing sector of some of the countries in
the world, we come to know that the Japan & Germany signify a good
manufacturing culture. This is a culture, which India needs to adopt for
doing well in the manufacturing sector. So, it’s a need to use manufacturing
as the vehicle for India to achieve persistent growth in many fields. In
this case, , Deputy Director-General of CII, Dr. Sarita Singhal, says that
the manufacturing sector of Japan contributes 20-22% to its GDP, therefore
we need to target 30% in the manufacturing sector to generate employment.
For generating employment and to attend growth by achieving heights in
the manufacturing sector, India is likely to implement a manufacturing
policy by the end of current year to counter cheap imports and to enhance
competitiveness of the manufacturing sector. This is the right time chosen
by Government of India to push country’s manufacturing sector ahead when the
whole world looking India as the ‘manufacturing center’ for global
requirements, said Mr. H.R. Mustikar, MD, Kirloskar Pnumatic. The policy
mainly aims at providing value-addition to the investment perspectives in
India.
Manufacturing sector is the wide sector, which is about to generate many
employment opportunities. This specially gives hope of employment for the
people from rural areas. But it needs a focused vision for a detailed
planning to give guaranteed and maximum employment to people coming from
rural areas. They can be employed either in the small-scale or medium-scale
industries. Theses employments could be brought to front as soon as the
policy is getting implemented.
Setting up the new manufacturing policy is an exercise that is being done
for the first time in India. This exercise will result in increasing India’s
share in the global manufacturing industry and will be proved as an
excellent opportunity for India to attract companies, which are looking for
alternative sources.
After the implementation of
http://www.made-from-india.com manufacturing policy</a> if it has been
followed successively, India will become a manufacturing hub for almost all
the sectors of business. Sectors such as steel, mining, chemicals,
petrochemicals, textiles, capital goods, drugs, pharmaceuticals and even
energy including non-conventional energy & solar energy would receive
motivation with the implementation of this manufacturing policy. This
manufacturing policy would also be significant for creating value-addition
and employment in urban and rural areas as it broadly aims at generating
mass employment.
