March 28, 2008 ( PowerHomeBiz
) - Columbia, MO --- What
started out as a place for small town high school alumni to reunite on the
Web has in 3 short years reached nearly 12,000 members. In 2005, Sam Shelby
decided that he wanted to create an online community were his high school
friends could reunite, chat and share photos. Sam used his Web development
skills to create his online community and called it AlumniOnline.org.
(news continued below)
After an initial explosion of users it was obvious that Sam had found a
resource that everyone could benefit from so he opened it to anyone.
Sam Shelby says, "AlumniOnline.org is different from other websites
providing these services. We offer free tools to contact friends and plan
reunions. Reunion.com and Classmates.com have been providing online reunion
services for years but you have to pay for most of their services."
Some of the features of AlumniOnline.org include tools to find friends
and plan or announce class reunions, a profile with then and now photos,
free greeting cards, school and public bulletin boards and photo galleries,
a free message center to contact friends, and an email announcement service
when new classmates register.
AlumniOnline.org can be found at www.alumnionline.org.
