A farrier for twenty seven years, William Jones, has developed an ornamental
blacksmith shop. Years ago a Blacksmith and farrier were one in the same but
today the two fields have separated. Today a farrier only shoes horses and a
blacksmith creates ornamental metalwork. “While the two fields have gone
their separate ways today, my history as a farrier led to my passion of
blacksmithing,” Jones said recently.

Jones and his family recently made a move to his wife’s home of
Reidsville, Georgia and to a new career as a blacksmith. After years of
traveling as a farrier, his dream of working at home has finally come to
pass.
Jones focuses his creative energy on fashioning wrought iron home décor
items that are both beautiful and functional. His items can be used for
everyday life and will last a lifetime. Every piece that he creates is hand
forged in his blacksmith shop.
To expand awareness of his unique work, Jones has started a retail
website at http://www.SilverLakeForge.net His website allows site visitors
to view gallery like images and select from items such as custom finished
wrought iron pot racks, wine racks, door knockers and more.
Jones has also tied in his past career as a farrier with his new
blacksmithing business by using horse shoes that have been saved by the
owner of his favorite horse that he shoed for over 19 years. He creates
unique equestrian themed home décor items with these sentimental horse
shoes.
Jones is also always open to customizing any of his items to fit his
customers’ home décor.
